The Engineering industry lacks diversity. Our goal is to understand how to retain historically excluded groups in the Engineering industry. This research is funded by the Royal Society Te Apārangi through the Rutherford Discovery Fund as well as by The University of Auckland.

The facts

The Engineering industry is in a diversity crisis. For example, only 14% of engineers in Aotearoa New Zealand are women. Women also leave the industry at alarming rates and those who stay report low satisfaction and high rates of gender discrimination.
